Established in 1915, Jewish Family Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania (JFS) reflects the Jewish tradition of caring and compassion for all people in need. Through professional counseling, advocacy and educational programming, our services seek to enhance and strengthen the quality of individual, family and community life.
Jewish Family Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania (JFS) is accredited by the Council on Accreditation, a Member of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA) and is an affiliated organization of the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne County and the Jewish Federation of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
JFS has a professional responsibility to maintain the highest standards of care in guarding the confidentiality of the individuals who use our services. JFS is a participating provider with most insurance companies and accepts Medicare and Medicaid. Sliding fee scale is also offered based on family size and income.
